Interactive Informatics Team of ENAC Research Lab – HCI in aeronautics

Two complementary research axes to better understand the Human Computer Interaction in aerospace systems

Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
The Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) axis aims at improving the quality and performance of interactions between humans and machines. Applications include the design and evaluation of new concepts and interactions for cockpits, control positions, drone checkpoints, or flight preparation. Outside aeronautics, it applies to other critical systems such as hospitals.

Interactive Systems Engineering (ISE)
The Interactive Systems Engineering (ISE) axis aims at improving the engineering of interactive systems by addressing the definition, design, implementation and verification & validation processes. The areas of application are: complex systems in general possessing important characteristics of distribution, interconnection, adaptation, or information sharing; transport systems that have high performance, availability, safety and security constraints; the air transport system, in particular the cockpits of aircraft, the control positions of the air traffic controllers and the pilot control posts of drones.

Teaching activities

The team members teach to ENAC engineering degree, the Human Computer Interaction master degree and the Master IATSED. Courses include: computer programming, engineering methods, interaction design or project management.
